Who am I?

My name is Eric.

I live and work at Spruce Lake Retreat in the Pocono Mountains of northeast Pennsylvania.  I grew up in a small town in northeast Indiana.  My parents instilled in me at a young age the value of hard work and faithfulness to Christ and the church.  My family has been heavily involved in church life for generations.

I graduated from Bethany Christian High School in Goshen, IN.  I then went on to graduate from Hesston College in Hesston, KS with a degree in Bible and Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA with degrees in Christian Ministries and Youth Ministries.

I have served as a pastor at Cornerstone Mennonite Church, Hartville, OH, Boynton Mennonite Church, Hopedale, IL, and Swamp Mennonite Church in Quakertown, PA.  Additionally I've worked for Vector Marketing Corp. and Radio Shack in multiple roles.  I also have served as a speaker, worship leader, and concert artist in a variety of camps and congregations.

Even though I grew up in a Christian home and knew about God all my life I didn't seriously commit my life to following him until just after my 16th birthday.  Since that time God has been calling me into closer relationship with him.

So that is a little about me but it's not who I am.  I am a child of God with a passion to help people find freedom from whatever is keeping them from the abundant life that God desires His children to live.  I have struggled with shame and guilt, addiction, self esteem, and finances.  God has been with me in every struggle and has been faithful to show me ways out, even if at times I wasn't listening.  My current journey to get healthy again has been long overdue but it's a journey I am now on and finding victory and freedom in.

As God is restoring my health (as I do the hard work to get there) He is also restoring my soul.  Who am I?  I am a broken unhealthy person in need of a savior.  I am daily walking toward God and the health, happiness, and abundant life He wants me to live.  My prayer is that as I walk that journey, others will join and run with me into freedom.
